Individual therapy offers you the opportunity to work with a therapist to explore challenges you may be experiencing in your life. These challenges can include depression, anxiety, managing stress and relationship problems. The therapeutic process can help you understand how early relationships may be influencing your current relationship patterns. We can work together to identify and develop new skills which may help you manage life’s challenges and your relationships more effectively.

 

What to expect the first session:

 

The first session of therapy is a chance for us to get to know each other. Therapy is a very individual process. A positive client/therapist relationship is essential for therapy to be beneficial. During this meeting we will review my office policies, limits of confidentiality, and treatment consent forms. I will gather information about you and your purpose for seeking therapy.

This first session is a great time for you to ask any questions you may have about my education, training, and experience as a therapist. I can also answer questions about my therapeutic process and what you can expect to gain from therapy.
